Description

This historic canal in upstate New York runs east-west between the Hudson River and Lake Erie. Completed in 1825, the canal was the first navigable waterway connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes. The Erie Canalway Trail is a popular cycling path that follows the canal across the state. Some long-distance boaters take the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor as part of the Great Loop.

Our engraved wood map art of New York State’s Erie Canal is made from solid, one-inch-thick ash wood. It features a recessed canal which has been filled with blue epoxy. Highlighted are a number of locks along the canal running from Albany to Buffalo. The entire piece is stained to give a naturally aged feel. The piece is 36″ long by 9″ tall and comes with heavy-duty mounting hardware attached to hang on a wall.
